Sinningia macropoda

  1. Feature table
  2. Publication and etymology

Several years ago, I sowed some seed from the Gesneriad Society seed fund labeled "Sinningia macropoda (dwarf)".  The resulting plants had long, pendant stems and did not seem to resemble the "real" Sinningia macropoda very much, although the flowers looked similar.  They have since expired.

For a number of years, Sinningia lineata was grown under the name S. macropoda or S. macropoda 'Cyclophylla', creating considerable confusion.  My oldest S. lineata plant was started from seed labeled "Sinningia macropoda" about 30 years ago.
