Sinningia guttata

S. guttata grows fast. Here's a picture taken early in the day. The plant is just sprouting new growth from last year's stems.   Here's a picture taken later the same day, with the plant in full bloom.

You know you are not supposed to trust me, right?  These pictures were indeed taken the same day, 8 April 2007, but they are different plants.  The one on the left spent the winter outdoors, and lost all its leaves and all but the base of its stems during the five-day cold spell.  The plant on the right spent the winter indoors, in a sunny window.  It never lost its leaves or went dormant at all.
