Gesneriad Society Convention 2010: Judging

Re

This is Leonard Re, at the intermediate judges school.  He isn't rejecting the instruction, he just always looks skeptical.

judges

I did not find judging in 2009 to be particularly pleasant, so I opted to clerk instead in 2010.  My fellow clerk, Eileen McGrath, was absent when this photo was taken, but here are the three judges on our team: Judy Niemira, Bob Clark, and Sylvia Taub.  Being a clerk is lots less stressful than being a judge, and these judges were very easy to work for.

Critique

After the judging (the next morning) comes the critique.  Ben Paternoster was retiring as judges chairman and must have felt mellow this year, because there was very little critique in the critique.

Everybody is standing around the Kohleria coccinea, the co-tallest-gesneriad-in-show.  Paul Kroll is having misgivings about this whole photography business, while I believe that's Judy Zinni with her back to me.
