Gesneriad Society Convention 2010: the Bill Price Tour

Here is a plant growing in front of one of the many windows.  It is also one of the many plants I couldn't identify, but I am sure one of the millions of horticultural cognoscenti who read this site will let me know what it is.



[One of them, Mark Zukaitis, wrote me to tell me it's a medinilla, which is a member of the family Melastomataceae.  This is plausible, since the leaf (see picture at right) and the bracts (see picture below) exhibit typical melastome venation.]
