Gesneriad Society Convention 2008: More of the Show

A Price-less Plant

Minnesota Nice

By now it must seem as if Bill Price entered everything in the show.  It is true that Bill entered many beautiful and fascinating plants.  But there were excellent plants from other growers too.

Part of the problem is my fascination with the new and unusual, and another part is my incompetent photography.  Pictures of some plants were out of focus or badly composed.  One, at least, turned out okay.  Well, not horrible anyhow.

This is Sinningia 'Minnesota Nice', a new (at that time) hybrid from Clay Anderson of Minnesota.  It was grown and exhibited by Dale Martens.

For all the blue-ribbon plants at the 2008 convention, see the picture page and its links on the Gesneriad Society web site.

For pictures of two other fine plants in the show, see the Sinningia & Friends web site.  Because they were sinningias, I took extra pictures, so at least one or two turned out.

These were Sinningia leopoldii and Sinningia speciosa 'Carangola'.  Both were grown and entered by Bill Price.
